My Hobbies & Interests
What do I like to
do?
I like Moonlight walks, cuddling
up in front of a warm fire on a cold night. I love to fly, snow ski when my ankle and knee says it is ok (which hasn't been
lately grrr), relax, boat, fish, snorkel, camping in a camper (too old for the tent thing anymore LOL but still build a camp
fire), travel, read, go out for dinner (I can't cook!), and talk about life and dreams.
The next place I want to travel
is to Sweden or Australia;
actually anywhere it is warmer than Wisconsin or that my
money will take me, which isn't far lately. My favorite spot on the planet that I have actually been to is Tampa/Clearwater,
FL, Seattle/Whidbey Island, WA and Las Vegas, NV.
Favorite spot I would like to see would be Aussie and snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef.
But you know, I am ready to be creeped out in some castles on the other side of the pond.
My worst vacation story is
my trip to Detroit. I got caught in the Storm of the Century
on Amtrak. The whole trip was a mess from the get go and the person I went to meet turned out to be a real jerk. At least
I wasn't stuck on the tarmac at Detroit in an airplane but
the train did smell like an outhouse. I can still smell the smell.
What celebrity do
people say I resemble?
No one that I know of. You
tell me. Then again, I have a picture of myself that reminds me of Monica Lewinsky. I do have one that kinda looks a
little like Jennifer Love Hewitt of Ghost Whispher.
I'd also like to say... I
believe in being HONEST and EXPECT the same. Lies and Deception will get you nowhere very fast with me. I call
them as I see them. I have a good sense of humor (at least I think so). I have a cat and my cat comes with me.
I am NOT looking for a man that wants casual sex or a booty call (sex takes a SERIOUS COMMITMENT.... in other words a
diamond ring) and RESPECT is a big word in my book. Too many men think sex makes the relationship and is the most important
part of a relationship, I beg to differ, COMMUNICATION is. Sex has nothing to do with ROMANCE. Learn
the difference if you want a chance with me. ROMANCE comes from the HEART, not the wallet; however flowers do
help. The rest you will have to learn as you get to know me.
Relationships are a 2 way
street, because I am really tired of the games most men play and trust me there are a lot of games. I am tired of getting
walked all over, so if you like to play games, please don't email me. And if you have ideas that you will use me to
get back at or with your ex, you are bored with your wife or just want booty, please don't email me. I am not
about to lower myself to that level. And now, that I have said that..... here is a
Personal Thought or
Quote... Life is short and you must enjoy each day to the fullest. Surround yourself with positive
energy. Remember to take the good with the bad. And believe it or not there is some good with the bad. I
am beginning to think that everything happens for a reason but there are times that I don't understand why.
Do not rely on gestures or
outer appearances as an indication of the love that people have for you. Rely instead on the feeling of love that exists
between you. -- Sanaya Roman
A FRIEND'S PRAYER
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who fucks up your day and may their arms be too short
to scratch. Amen
My favorite type
of music: Rock/Pop
Some of my favorite musicians/albums...
too many to choose from, but big time one's are the 80's stuff, like Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon, The Eagles, Chicago, the
Top Gun Soundtrack, Phil Collins, Areosmith, Foreigner, Jimmy Buffett, Journey, AC/DC. So what can I say I am stuck there.
I listen to Top 40's and hard rock but don't ask me the name of the song or who sings it. (I would make a terrible DJ.)
My
Favorite Movies: Back Draft, Top
Gun, Dying Young, Sweet November, The Guardian, Pretty Woman.
My
Favorite Television: ER, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Survivor, Law and Order, Army Wives, LOST, Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead, John Edwards,
Ghost Whispher, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International and anything dealing with the paranormal...yes that would be ghosts.
I love sitcoms too.
My Favorite Authors: Patricia
Cornwell, Robin Cook, Michael Palmer
My Online Life
I love to surf the net and
chat. I am not in many chat rooms anymore. People get too weird in there.
I have been doing a great
deal of research on APS and have now started a non-profit, Public Charity, organization called APS Foundation of America, Inc. Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APS), which is associated with recurrent clotting events (thrombosis) including
premature stroke, repeated miscarriages, phlebitis, venous thrombosis (clot in the vein) and pulmonary thromboembolism (blockage
of an artery found in the lung due to a clot that has traveled from a vein). It is also associated with low platelet
or blood elements that prevent bleeding. Recently, however, even more disease states have been linked with APS including premature
heart attack, migraine headaches, various cardiac valvular abnormalities, skin lesions, diseases that mimic multiple sclerosis,
vascular diseases of the eye that can lead to visual loss and blindness. If you want to read more about it go to http://www.apsfa.org or my website at Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome & Thrombophilia Information.
I enjoy talking with others
who are going through the same thing as I am because no one really wants to hear or understand what I am going through.
(Yes, that means I have APS.) I am trying to get the word out about this autoimmune disease that probably affects more
people than we know. And there are times that this disease takes the best out of me. You can post any
question you may have at: http://www.apsforum.com.
Other than that I just read
my email, write a lot of grants and get off line. (Ok, so what can I say I lead a boring life!!)
Do You Know Who I Am?
written by: "Richelle"
Few people notice me for I am like a snake in the grass. My
ways are cunning and baffling. I will take your heart and wreak havoc. I will take your brain and make it into
mush. I enjoy catastrophe and heartache. I will take every child out of your womb. I will not give up.
I will not give up until I have every last baby. I will creep in quietly. You won’t notice me at first.
People will think you are crazy and they will say mean things about you. You will think you are crazy too and you will
fear what each day shall bring.
I will begin to show small signs of my presence. I will draw lacy patterns on
your legs. Then I will move up to your kidneys. If that doesn’t work, I will go straight for your heart.
If you prove yourself strong, I will torture your brain. This is war. And I will shoot you with tiny little clots
made from your own blood. If I don’t succeed the first time, I will start over until I get it right. It’s
one big cycle. You just go through the arteries and the veins.
My name is APS. I will do everything I can
to kill you. Your doctor may or may not know anything about me, or my powers. He will think I’m pretty benign,
until I become more aggressive. How sad for you, it may be too late. How sad for your family. If your doctor
does decide to fight me, then I become stronger. For no man can tame me. You can arm yourself with the best medications
out there, but that won’t stop me from trying to take you. If I really want your life, it’s mine.
You’d
better warn your family and friends, just incase I’m successful this time around. You should tell your doctor
that, he is going to look like a fool when he realizes he should have listened to you, especially when your family decides
to take him to court. Make sure you have your last will and testament ready, just incase. I may let you live a
long life, but it may be a difficult one. Or I could take you tomorrow. Don’t ever forget my name. It’s
Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome. But you can just call me APS!
